Mine usually sits for a few days. Sometimes I drive it everyday, sometimes I ride the Harley for the week. Just depends on how I feel and weather. But I never have a problem starting it up and she always purrs, or growls, the second i turn the key.

i think it has a lot to do with the fact the synthetic is thin and light , and over the weeks the metal gets dry .. i do know that my last truck did not like to sit with it over time . i did at first put synthetic in it because i was thinking it would work better because it would sit for weeks at a time. but the sewing machine clicking changed my mind..

When you are talking weeks for sitting? Both oils would have settled by then in the motor. We are talking about slight differences in oil thickness. Not water vs syrup lol.

As stated before, synthetic is the preferred choice for what you are doing.

Just start it up and let it run for 5-10 mins every two weeks or so. This will give it time to get the fluids flowing (minus tranny fluids unless you put it in N). This will also allow the coolant to begin to flow and help with any deposits that might settle in the coolant. Usually additives only treat symptoms, if there's an issue get some new oil in there!

I second the note on putting in neutral and allowing engine to get to temp. Driving around the neighborhood wouldn't hurt it either just to get some tranny action.
