Default Discoverer ATP

Anybody tried the cooper discoverer atp? I know they are a fairly new tire, and only sold through discount tires...the reviews that I have found are positive, just wondering if anybody here has any experience with them

Got 'em in today. I will try to post some pics when I get them on. Pretty meaty looking tire for the stock size

OldLeaky, your teasin man without the pics! I have used Cooper Zeon LTZ's and loved the on and offroad wet grip for an aggressive hybrid all terrain tire. The Discoverer A/T3's are my next purchase in a 275/55-20. I think Cooper is seriously underated for they do make some good ole American rubber for decent price.

Here you go. Impressions so far are positive. Tracks better, about the same noise level as the stockers, but I lost an annoying vibration @ 65-70!
Don't see any mileage difference yet. Haven't had a chance to try them on anything other than highway and gravel roads. So far, so good. I'll try to remember to post again when I get a few thousand miles and some rain on them. I drive abt 3k a month, so it shouldn't be long. They look good to me. Not overpoweringly aggressive, but should be a competent all terrain.

I really like that tire....kinda a cross between the Zeon LTZ, but the mileage warranty of the Discoverer AT3. I have to agreed with Gantman here....Cooper seems to be making a quality American made tire.

What I'm really interested in hearing more about is you getting rid of the annoying 65-70mph vibration. I've had this since day one on my truck, and it literally starts vibrating in through the steering wheel, peddle, and truck around those speeds. Worst speed for me is literally 72 mph. I've suspected the Badyear tire and my dealer gave me that same excuse as they have had problems with the 20' Badyear tire.

Thanks for sharing....very nice. Just wished I had a Discount Tire near us, oh and that they made them with white outline lettering on the 20's.

Yeah, I'm convinced it was the HP's causing the whole vibration. It was just a very annoying, high frequency thing that would make everything shake a little. I had just had them rotated and re-balanced, thinking it would help, but my tire guy said it looked like 3 of them were badly out of round, or coming apart. Didn't want to take a chance so I tried the ATPs. I ordered online, free shipping, and received them in 3 days. Pretty pleased with the whole experience. Got rain today, and they did very well. Didn't hit any large puddles, but didn't notice any negative handling effects from the smaller puddles. Just seemed planted. Just to test out the grip, I dropped it into 2nd going about 45 and put the hammer down, which was a major no-no with the hp's on a wet road, and tc didn't kick on, so they definitely grip better.

Nice lookin tire Oldleaky! Keep us updated on your experiences with the ATP's. I'm still undecided between, ATP's, AT3's or Zeon LTZ's.
