Default engine stalls after luging.

I acctually have a couple of questions. first truck is 98 1500 5.2L 4x4 with
a 5 speed. while driving if i lug my truck like whil coming to a stop light, and let the rpms get low it will die when I push in the clutch rather than pick up rpms. Tps, IAC, plenum gaskets have all been changed and throttle body has been cleand. The pickup will always start right back up with no problem at all. it is just anoying. My secend question is in lew of this problem I am thinking of replacing it with a 5.9L from my local junk yard, which I can get for about $250.00. I am unsure if I need to get PCM wiht it or if the one for the 5.2 will work. what does everyone think. Also considering puitting in axles from 3/4 ton diesle which I can also get cheap.
