Default Steering binding

I have an '05 Hemi SLT with an odd problem in the steering. At slow speeds or stopped, i have a slight binding or slight lack of power steering when I first start turning to the left. Happens when I am turning into my driveway or making slow speed turns. It only happens to the left, not the right. I am not sure if it is something in the rack or in the power steering pump.

I could change both of them, but would rather see if anyone else has had a similar problem so I can change only the problem part. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks All

If it wwere a pump issue, it should happen in both directions. I'd look for binding in the gear, rod ends or ball joints.

Your steering setup is different than the 1500. Start by making sure your steering stabilizer isn't damaged. Take one end of it loose and see if the binding disappears. Also check the clamps on the drag link adjuster and make sure they aren't contacting the frame when you turn left.

Not sure if anyone's still tracking this thread but I have the same problem. I've replaced the pump, booster, gear box, pressure lines, tie rods, and drag link assembly. turns smooth as can be with the front end off the ground or on the ground in dirt or wet concrete. I'm running amsoil atf... Please help if anyone's figured this out.
