Yep the concept of using 2p as a normal WOT up shift gear is troublesome.

But as I understand it can't you put in tow haul, OD off or something and revert it to not using that extra gear at WOT?

I stopped using 2pr totally,
just use auto 1-2-3, and it's just hitting 4th gear at the traps.

Tow/Haul mode, ESP off, let is shift on its own.
Currently have my Diablo Trinity setup with 6400 rpm shift points

hitting 4th at WOT is as bad as 2p.
but I'm scratching my head as to how you are even hitting 4th WOTat 98 mph with your gears.
Mine at WOT would be at about 6000 rpm in 3rd at 98 mph on 295's and 4.56 gears..
your's should be less than 4700 rpm at 98 in 3rd with 3.55 and those DR's

If you are hitting 6400 shorty before the traps, sounds more like it's shifting from 2p to 3rd shortly before the traps

anyway assuming it's in 3rd and just auto shifting way early, AND it behaves the same as a 3g pull back from D over 5000 rpm and it should hold 3rd to the rev limit which with 295's and 3.55 would be at least 135 mph - way the heck and gone past the 1/4 mile

EVIC reads 2pr as 3rd, and 3rd gear as 4th

Well because I am me and also have opinions I figured I would throw in my 2 cents (or maybe 5). First of all street racing is dangerous. I'm not going to preach about it because I am guilty of it as well. My dad always told me go as fast as you feel comfortable, and as a result my dad and I have had a few top end confrontations on the Interstate.

As far as track racing goes; reaching the end first is more important than the best ET. As someone stated earlier if it was all about the ET we could look in a magazine and determine who wins. If I trip the trap first and I didn't red light I win; simple as that. There is absolutely no way I am going to tell my competitor that he won just because he had the better ET; I may however tell them that if they would learn to drive better they just might beat me next time. I am not willing to downplay my driving abilities and or skill because I beat a vehicle that is technically faster. Skill is the name of the game.

If I get a kill on the street, hell yes it counts. No I cannot provide timeslips, but I wouldn't be touting my ET either. I would simply be saying I beat brand X vehicle whether they sucked at driving or not. If I said I ran a 10 in my neon then yeah I had better have a timeslip to prove it.

Now I must say that I have not yet had a race with my Ram. Nobody seems to be interested and I'm bone stock except for my cat back exhaust. I can't even get the teens to race. Maybe one day soon I can add a kill to the Ram list.

Wow going through these posts is just awesome!! The only thing I have to say is You guys are running awesome trucks ( and not just because I have one he he he) I have done street racing over track when I was younger, and you win some and you lose some but don't take away from anyone the wins they achieve, you may not like it, and may wonder how they did it, it happens thats racing!!
