Default First Tow 2012 1500 ST

I took my 23' Travel Trailer out last night for a test before we go camping in a couple weeks. Last year I was towing with a 2007 Nissan Armada with load leveling suspension. I never had an issue with the Armada towed like a dream. I have the weight distribution hitch on the trailer and Airlift 1000 helpers on the truck. I ran the air up to 30-35lbs and the trailer was empty, nothing in the tanks no mattress in the trailer no fire wood no food, coolers or anything like that.

Now for my first impression, I noticed the back end feeling loose, felt like it was "floating". I use a friction brake on there to stop the side to side sway and the stabilizer bars. I am wondering if I had to much air on the Airlift bags if that was causing some issues. The truck had plenty of power and with the brake controller it was easy to stop. My only issue on the quick country drive yesterday was the "floating" feeling coming from the back end. I had control just didn't feel like the armada did. Any suggestions on what I might try would be appreciated.

I also noticed that I will need tow mirrors I had them on the Armada and could see right behind the trailer, with the ST mirrors I could see behind the trailer at all.

Overall I was happy with the power of the truck, once loaded I think it will feel more planted. I live in Oregon so anywhere we go there is a lot of uphill and downhill driving and having the controlled confidant feeling is important. Thanks again for any input.

You just need to adjust your wd and that will fix it right up.

Bilstein 5100's at 2.8. Fox 2.0 rears. MBC Razors with Goodyear Duratracs. Airlift 1000 air bags. Mopar Tow mirrors. K&N air filter. Mopar rock deflector. More AR's than you can shake an AK at.
