Default HID troubleshooting?

Im trying to install a HID kit i just bought. I got it all wired up with the relay harness, turned it on and they flickered 5 times and went out...If i turned the truck off and back on the lights would flicker 5 times and turn off again, so I don't think it is a fuse. Any thoughts?

You're gonna want to check your PM's. You're also going to want to raid a Radio Shack. Bring pen, paper, and liquor.

my first thought would be a loose connection of some sorts, my second thought would be a bad ground connection. I don't have a third idea...

good luck

I just installed mine and they are doing the same exact thing the OP said.

Turn the truck on, turn on lights, they flicker 5 times and die out.

Turn off/on the truck again, same thing.

What's the fix? This sucks.

run a separate power wire from the fuse box on to a fuse that is switched, like the fog lights, or radio to the ballast of the HID's. This should solve your problems.
