Default Hide-away strobe install/2006 Dodge Ram

Hey guys, figured this would be the best place to get the answer to my question. I tried to install hide-away strobes into the headlights of my 2006 Ram 1500, I was able to get them in on the inner side of the low/high beams however there is too much of a gap between the reflector and the headlight case and the light started to melt the reflector in the headlight. I was looking at pictures and saw that the 2008 ram headlight did not have the amber running light section on the lower part of the headlight and seen installs were the strobe was in there. My question is would a 2008 headlight fit on a 2006 truck?

Thanks in advance

Yes, the housing will fit directly into the '06 housing with no issues. I would recommend baking your lights open and installing the strobe bulb directly into the reflector lens rather than trying to making it fit through the housing itself. Having taken my lights apart several times I know there is still a fair gap between the two, plus the reflector lens won't have any issues with the heat generated by the strobe.
