Default Dodge Ram a/c issue

I have a ram 1500 and whenever i use the a/c the truck will blow warmer air when i come to a stop or slow down while driving and i know a couple of people with a ram 2500 and another 1500 ram and both are 2005, they have the same problem so i was wondering of this is a dodge thing or what cause the a/c works fine the rest of the time its only when i slow down or stop, i also haven't tested the psi on the low side but its a new truck and the other people i know with older trucks have the same issue and the fan works on the condenser cause i can hear it

I think what you're experiencing is the new refrigerant used in the AC systems.

It's not as effective as the old stuff, but it is supposedly safer for the ozone, the bunnies, and probably the whales too.

This is a "problem" that we all experience, and I don't think that there is a cure, short of killing off the ozone, bunnies, and whales

So this is normal? My 2010 does something similar, I have noticed two times(in over a year...granted) that the AC just sort of went warm for about 5-15 seconds, then returns to cold. It happened last weekend at about 35mph. It went warm, then cold, then warm, then cold. Otherwise everything is fine.

This is "normal"?

I should add that I rarely use my AC. In a year, it's probably only been turned on maybe a few dozen times, and I drive it every day, about 20k miles over the last year.

My Honda Pilot, Toyota Corolla and Ram are all the same way. I guess it's normal. But my Ol' Chevy never did this, you could sit in a fast food drive through in Lake Havasu with frosty air blowing.

I'm thinking mine's low on refrigerant.....but that would mean there's a leak....

I have a vague understanding of how refrigeration works, and it doesn't make sense that it goes warm randomly...
