There are no issues running the iridiums, never said there were. They are just way more expensive compared to the coppers and don't provide any performance gains. That said, I've b een running iridiums for almost 30k and they are in great shape. The only plug I know that has serious issues with our engines are the platinum plugs.

Ok I was told there are improvements in the coil output and spark duration over the original design from when they first came out in 08 but they are not a "multiple spark " coil like the LS versions but they are a performance improvement over stock. Just passing on the information.

not that I am planning to buy coils any time soon but if I was I think I would try out the new coils from Performance Distributors before the MSD. They cost more than $100 less and I know that they Mustang products work good. I have had issues with MSD in the past as well.

Well hopefully we can "Believe" what they say, they look like the ones from Jeg's, OE with a sticker on them. Not that looks mean anything but at least the MSD's are molded differently and colored different so "maybe" they actually put something different inside instead of just a sticker on the outside. Just my .02. Every car I saw at the Supernationals had MSD everything, from 3.7sec topfuel cars to 11 sec street cars, I know they sponser many but they obviously work also.

FWIW I ran a MSD 6AL digital ignition control module and a msd blaster 2 coil on my F100 and never had any issues with it. It performed well, seemed better than stock, but I don't really know if it actually made more power. I'm sure it did as the stock ignition setup was terrible. I wouldn't spend a dime trying to upgrade the ignition system on my ram though.

I ran the MSD Distributor, Coil, 6AL ignition & wires on the built up 1980 Chevy Shortwide that I had in college. Performance was night and day different over the ancient stock setup that it had previously. That was on a carbureted "No computer" era vehicle. On those MSD makes huge differences. On todays vehicles.... the computers control so much and do a good job on the ignition side, that I am not sure how much difference MSD would actually make. I myself looked at their coils awhile back, but could find no hard evidence to back up their extremely high price. Some dyno numbers showing a 25 hp boost would make that decision pretty easy, but as far as I am aware that does not exist.
