Which ever one is the plastic tubing, doesn't get as hot as metal

Default K&N Installing Tomorrow

If you are really wanting a K&N intake, you can check out their site and they post the dyno results on a 4G Ram... www.http://www.knfilters.com/

For a 2011 1500 with Hemi they post these supposed gains:

63-1561 - the plastic tube kit
Estimated HP: 15.66 HP @ 4688 RPM

77-1561KP - the metal tube kit
Estimated HP: 10.3 HP @ 4382 RPM

I've also heard and read a lot of what BlackHemI said that the metal tubing retains and absorbs more of the engine compartment heat which is kind of the opposite of what you're installing an intake to do. I just received my 63 Series K&N Intake from UPS yesterday, got it two day shipping and tax for $244 from Amazon.com. Going to be installing it tomorrow. I like the look of the chrome tube in the 77 series, but cooler air is the goal and besides, no one can see the chrome under your hood when you're passing them!

Sayonara, Bye Bye

The 63 series is better its one single tube rather than 2 tubes connected and its sounds so great with an exhuast done love my 63 series. Just be carfuel with the air intake censor its super fragile

Thanks Stopper, will keep that in mind tomorrow. The instructions mention that, but good to know from fellow member as well.

just put a 63 in my 2011. Use a gerber multi tool for the air sensor. and you might have to re route the crank case vent hose to make it work

I to like shostopper have the 63 series and without my exhaust yet on, I gotta say, the sound it produces is nice.
Cat wait to pair it with my catback
