Question Flowmaster and HEMI Shift Points

Hi All -- I was wondering if anyone else had/has this issue after installing aftermarket exhaust -- and if so is there any solution.

I recently installed a Flowmaster exhaust system on my truck -- sounds good , blah blah blah...however it seems the shift points of my truck are not super "compatible" with the new exhaust. What do I mean by that? Basically there are time when I light to moderatley step on the throttle that the motor "bogs" until I give it some more throttle -- kind of like it is in the wrong gear. It seems to mainly occur at lower RPMs.

Has anyone experienced this? If so what are my options? I am one step away from selling my new Flowmaster kit and going back to stock...

Many thanks,
Jared

Many say that flow master sounds great but actually loses hp and tq. Manga flow and borla seem to be the ones!

Cool

Yeah -- I actually really like the sound when you mash on the throttle, but am really picky about the shifting /sound -- even though I can get around with changing my driving style a bit.

I am returning back to stock this weekend and will try to sell off my American Thunder kit.

Well...back to stock I am... Kinda bummed, but it was irritating with the MDS sound. If anyone is interested in the Flowmaster I will sell it cheap...just know that you may not be a fan of the sound when MDS kicks in...WOT it sounds like, well what Flowmaster should sound like.

If I do exhaust again in the future , I will look more at the performance perspective instead of just the sound (maybe want for a tuner to come out for the 2012 -- if that will EVER happen!) -- O well, what can I say I had Flowmasters on my old truck and I loved the sound for 7 years, but this one just did not do it for me!

I have the flowmaster 40 and not only does it sound fantastic it also performs way better than stock ever did. In all fairness however I am using the SC cortex along with a drop-in K&N so perhaps it's the combination. Anyway I have no intention on making any changes.

I also have a Super 44 and am noticing some of the things you described. Do you feel the performance is better with stock?

The"bogging down " was my such an issue in my case -- it just left an overall bad feeling, so I really can't answer your question definitively. However, I did notice slightly more power in the higher RPMs(WOT) with Flowmaster (nothing in the low end -- but I knew that would be the case as is was with my previous kit) . I was mainly going for sound with the Flows...because stock tends to sound like an electric golf cart and let's be honest, it does not give our beloved HEMI justice at ALL! I had Flowmasters on my 2001 5.2 Ram for approximately 7 years and loved it all the time, at all speeds..so I did not really do any research before I bought exhaust for my 2012 -- that is my mistake! O well.

I did not have issue with the Flowmasters when you were heavy in the throttle ..just driving around town drove me nuts with the bogging...sounded like I did not know how to drive an automatic transmission!!! hahahah

I was thinking about Magnaflow, but I never see any kits listed for a long bed? What's up with that?? Does anyone know its that is the case for real?...remember when pick ups were always an 8 ft bed!?

I will get exhaust for sure...just need to do some further research and get over the sting of spending $500 on my FM kit that is just now a pile of nice looking pipes in the garage!
