Default 1st Oil Change in Dubai - They say 10,000 km

Hi from Dubai

Basically on these threads it seems the first oil change is between 3,000 to 5,000 km in the USA from what I can read, and then around every 5,000 km after that. Give or take.

I have a brand new RAM1500 on 960 km only, went for the 1k inspection at the dealership workshops and they insisted first oil change at 10,000km, and only every 10,000km afterwards.

It is 45-50C daily. Is this relevant ? Or are they just being 'unenthusiastic' ?

Any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated as I want to care for my truck like family.

My book says 13000 km, but I will be doing mine every 5,600km, like I have always done on all my Vehicles. My last one a Jeep grand Cherokee lasted me 12 years, and its still on the road, ran like brand new. Never had an issue

I do 5k miles, which I guess would be roughly 8,000 kilometers? The first oil change should be done early, within the first 1,000 miles.

I do mine every 13000Km why waste your money on 5000K intervals....

I used to do it more often. But a few Oil test I did showed me otherwise....

So that's 3 different numbers for oil changes throughout the lifespan - I guess it is a personal thing based on a lot of factors and common sense. So that answers that question.

Just the first oil change they suggest 10,000 km. I am going to go with my gut feeling and do it at 3,000 km and then around the 7,000km after.
