Thanks for the link! That's a heckuva bargain! Although the biggest trailer I pull is a 2500 lb popup camper that does have electric brakes... I may get the controller just for the piece of mind.

I have the same controller and did the exact same, but I bought the factory controller bezel insert an tweaked on that with a dremel instead of cutting up the original. I notched the bottom of the bezel where the manual lever on the bottom of the controller was bumping up against it.

I might be an inch or so more flush than you. My issue is that tension from the plastic sorta holds the controller in there. Once a day I end up "mushing" in back into place. I need to put some velcro or something there to hold everything in.

X3 on the factory EBC, i looked at them for my 09 SLT, but when i upgraded to the 11 Outdoorsman, i made all the dealings, then at teh last minute told them NEEEWWWWP until the ram had a MOPAR EBC in it. Boy, did they not like that one. But they did it. and it was flashed at the shop too, so my braking shows on the EVIC, complete with graphics and prettiness.

think of it like stering wheel controls. sure we could reach over and touch the radio, but this has that OOOHHHHHH facor that tickles our inner nerd

I did not like the little the small tray under the radio bezel so I thought why not put it to use. Nicer than bumping my knee into it . For me the loss of this area was no big deal.

I'd have to go with what EVS1 said. That thing is sweet. Everything works in conjunction with each other. No worries, no sweat. I've got mine set at 6.5 for a 3000lb camper.

BTW, that's what that space was designed for. I don't know why Mopar didn't just install it in the first place.
