Default 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 lift questions

Hi i have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 and i want to lift it. from the research that i have done do far i think i want to do a leveling kit in the front and block it in the back. i dont know if the front leveling kit has to be a few inches more than the block? and when i look at where the leafs sit on the axle there is already a 2 or so inch block there already.. do i need to take that into consideration?..

i am looking to lift my truck about 4 inches and i need HELP.

thanks a lot,
mike

If you properly lift your truck 4 inches you might as well buy a 5 inch lift, because they can be bought complete. The kit will contain the proper components to lift your truck safely and allow your front end to be set to factory specs when done.

I'm not a fan of stacked rear blocks.

If you add a 2 inch front spring spacer and a 2 inch add a leaf in the rear you'll max out your stock suspensions ability to be set properly as far as caster and axle tracking.

Pictures of lifted 2wd Dodge Ram 1500: https://picasaweb.google.com/112262324269756729694/1999DodgeRam15002WD?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCM6-85Gsu6OMmAE&feat=directlink

Hey Mike,
I just lifted my '99 Ram 1500 2WD with 3" coil spring spacers, 3" lift spindles, 3" body lift (which I already had on the truck) and 3" rear blocks. I didn't have to move any brake lines - just took off the brackets that held them in place. You have to buy new shocks when you do this. I now have 38" Super Swampers on this truck. Doing all the work myself/with a buddy, all of this cost less than $800 to lift it not including the tires. Hope this helps.
