Default 315or 285 tires

I was wondering if anyone is running 315/70/17 tires on a 2500 ram with 373 gears and a hemi? I was thinking about 315 or 285s, I dont know if the 315 tires would kill my mpgs. I spend a lot of time running the hwy. it was a perfect combo with my cummins, but it was a totally different animal

i don't think you will feel a difference running these tires due to the massive torque available to you, i would think you will take a bit of a mpg hit though.

I have ran both of these exact sizes on my Chevy diesel and 3.73 gears.

I had pretty massive torque and could feel a big difference in acceleration. The worst part about the 315's (BFG A/T) was the handling, braking and most of all, mileage! The 285's were a MUCH more pleasant tire in every regard.

I ran the tires on the same rims (H2 take offs). The 285's were Nitto terra grapplers.

I loved the Nittos but they wear out pretty quick. The BFG's lasted longer but would 'chunk' in rocky terrain.
