Clutch Fan for the 5.2/5.9L
Anyone else have this problem.
My original clutch went bad on my fan...so, I went to autozone and got a new one.
Installed it, I could hear the fan so loud, I couldn't hear the engine, it sounded like a turbo prop.
Also, took a lot of power away and fuel mileage lessened considerably.
(we took a trip down to the keys. Usually 1 tank the whole way...that fan made it take 2.5)
So, I took it back, and they gave me another one. Installed it, same thing. Went to the Dodge Dealer and bought an OEM one. Quiet as can be...the clutch actually slips like it supposed to.
So...am I the only one thats had that issue with buying an aftermarket fan clutch?
Because, by no means should a fan be engaged all the time like that.
Also, just figured I'd warn anyone that was thinking about it...lol
