Well this is how it played out i went to the dealer and purchased an oil filter for my 2009 Hemi that cost me $ 8.51 Canadian then i went to Walmart and purchased 7 liters of Castrol 5W20 which cost me $ 33.00 Canadian so overall i guess i will be doing all my oil changes in the future myself.

Besides there is nothing better than working on your own vehicle and having the peace of mind knowing that it was done correctly with better care than any dealer would give you considering its not their vehicle they are working on

I use Mobile full synthetic myself but as a mechanic I would say any of the brands listed for voting would be fine. They all meet basic standards so they should not harm your truck.

My old man has been using Mobil 1 since before I was born (I was born in 79), and has had nothing but good results. I bought my 06, 5.7 with 16,500 miles on it. The dealer threw in a free oil change with my purchase, so I let them do it at 20,000. I then stated running Mobil 1 5w20 at 23,000 miles. The truck seams a lot happier, and I get a lot less "HEMI tick". My old man and I have always run Mobil 1 (except when I wasw young and broke, or when the truck/car leaked/burned as much oil as it did gas) with the best of results. There are a lot of great oils out there, but I would always recomend a synthetic oil no mater what brand, they are better in all aspects of lubercation.

I take my truck to the dealer as well. They use mopar oil in it. As for who makes the oil I don't know. I got a sweet deal when I bought the truck ($9.95 oil change 23 pt. inspection and wash as long as I own it)

I've been running this oil in my 09' HEMI since first oil change (which is only one ) but during the first few minutes of warm up I hear a sort of light knocking noice from the engine. Anyone else?

I was thinking about switching to Mobile 1 (or even stock) oil next change to see if it stops.

Thoughts?

Dont go from Synthetic to canvetional!!! it will mess things up... the knocking is the valves and it is totally normal. they do it more with conventional

I voted valvoline, as that is the only oil I have used in this truck(only 1 oil change)
