Sorry if this is the wrong section for this issue, but everything that's happening deals with electronical issues, whether or not the problem itself is.
Alright, so I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L HEMI, and once day, just leaving my street, my truck "jolted", almost as if the engine shut off for a split second and then gave itself a lot of power and started going. So after that it did it again, so I turned around to go back home, and all of a sudden it jolted again, only worse, and my throttle was stuck at 15 MPH and I couldn't give it gas, so I came to a complete stop, put it in park, and let off the brake. The truck seemed like it wanted to drive while in park. When that happened, my Check Engine Light, ETC (Electronic Throttle Control) light, and my Traction Control Light came on. I turned it off and back on and pulled in my driveway. Then I drove it around all day and it didn't do it again.
The next day, I left and went to work and it did fine. Then on my lunch break, I was headed back to work, and it all happened again, only this time the engine shut completely off and would not start up again. It is completely unable to be driven, and I have it parked in a public parking lot which I hate. Everyday I go start it, and it idles higher than it usually does, after about 3 minutes it just shuts off while idling, and only the ETC light comes on, only it's flashing. And when I try to start it back up immediately, it will sometimes not try to start at all, or it struggles a lot and tries to "hard start". My truck only has 54,000 miles, so I am wondering why it is having this bad of an issue already. And my research for this issue has been on a lot of 2003 and 2005's, with around 50-65,000 miles.
I've been told many things to try, but nothing has works. I've pulled fuses, replaced fuses, reset the computer, got a new battery, replaced the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor (It was throwing a code for one), and none of it has helped.
I have done research, and most of the exact issues are saying to take off and clean the throttle body. I was just wondering if anyone has had this issue before and what should I do to fix it? I need my truck badly.
My last attempts before getting it towed to a shop is first of all cleaning the Throttle Body and if that doesn't work, I was told to check my Fuel Pump to see if it's getting enough pressure to run fuel through the engine, and then I was also told the Alternator could be bad.
Any and all suggestions/help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
