Default Instrument Cluster/ABS/Brake light/Blower Motor/Starting

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4 x 2. I have been having an intermittent problem with my instrument cluster. It'll start going nuts with the ABS and Park Brake lights staying illuminated then all the lights will flicker then the whole panel goes dead for a second then comes back on. It'll go away sometimes when I stop and when I hit the gas it'll happen again. Also, sometimes my truck won't start on the first try. Engine rotates, but no ignition. Starts usually on second try. Also, my blower motor will not work from time to time. I took the covers on the steering column off and checked the ignition wiring because I read about people having problems with the wires melting but everything looked good. I shook down all the wiring under the dash to see if I could make the light extinguish and I can't. I did a actuation test on the cluster and got a list of faults, but only 3 of them I could find what they were and don't seem to be related. Does anyone have any advice?

These symptoms are typical of a connection problem on the IPM (Integrated Power Module - AKA Fuse Box). It is good maintenance to (with battery disconnected) disconnect and re-connect all the wiring connectors on the bottom of the IPM. This is where ALL of the power comes from for everything and after a few years the connections can get a bit corroded and cause very strange intermittent issues. Teh act of disconnect/re-connect cycles the contacts which can solve many issues.

I'm not saying that this 'IS' your problem, but it costs nothing to do this bit of maintenance and could save you many $ and headaches.

I should also note that the Instrument Cluster is a relatively high point of failure on the 3rd gen Rams. However I firmly believe that many Instrument Clusters and IPM's have been replaced because of poor connections, and the act of replacing them cycled the contacts so the replacement appeared to be successful.
