I have been using Adams for 11 years. Its expensive and a long process, but its totally worth it. I buy the detail kit. It's pretty expensive stuff but comes with everything you need including a bucket with the grit guard. The cool thing is it all stores in the bucket when you finish. You have to order it online. Check out their website. The pics are amazing. I just bought my truck and will be detailing it this week. Ill post pics when Im done.

well i just spent about 9 hours on mine yesterday. it was starting to show some swirls along with a few other scratches and scuffs from life. I started off by doing a quick wash, then used a clay bar. you would be amazed the amount of stuff that sticks to the paint just look at the clay,

then I washed again being very detailed, I use a soft brush, i also have a different brush for the fender liners and another for the wheels. dry with a shammy.

then I bought a Black Box kit
http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-T3K.../dp/B001UMZ07A
by turtle wax. It uses a pre wax cleaner with a detailer spray then a carnnuba wax with another detailer spray to aid in removing the wax.
then i finished with a fresh micro fiber cloth and meguires detail spray again. looks freaking sweet

I have a black truck too. I use the two bucket method and the hose drip instead of using a sprayer - keeps the water spots away. Also, I clean and dry a section at a time. Start with the top and work my way down. I always use brand new micro fiber towels to dry after every wash then when done I use the lightly dampened towels to wipe out the door wells and the fender wells. After I know it's dry I use a product called JaxWax. It's a liquid carnuba wax that's easy to apply and really shines. The trick is to leave the paint alone as much as you can and apply the wax in a gentle straight line and no swirling action. Several thin layers are better than one thick layer. I stay away from any "dusters" or anything that may take the dust off but over time will scratch the paint. My two cents...

I use the automatic car wash method. I run it through. Drive it about 5 minutes, back to my house that is, and finish the cleaning there. When I get it home it does have some water spots on it due to running it through the automatic wash. I dry it off with a microfiber shammy. After this I get a clean microfiber cloth and go over it with Meguiars Quick Detail Spray. This takes away all the water spots and leaves a high gloss shine. For the interior I vacuum the truck out completely. Once that is done I use Turtle Wax Ice Interior Care in the spray bottle. This leaves a great shine and has a very clean smell to it. As far as wheel and tire cleaning products I use once again, Meguiars. The Hot Shine Tire Spray in the aerosol can. I have noticed that if you use this product that is offered in the spray bottle it will run and if you drive your truck right after you finish your detail job, that the tire shine will sling right off the tires and all down the side of your truck. Not fun! As far as actual Wax goes. I only use Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Polish. It is a wax but it is a clear wax and leaves a very good looking high gloss shine. It looks like your looking into a mirror when you are done wiping it off. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get very light scratches out? The scratches are so light they look like someone has took a very low grit sandpaper and just wiped the side of my truck. Any info or tips would be much appreciated! Thanks!

try with a good swirl remover first, and get a machine. a nice random orbital polisher will do the trick and not cause any damage to the paint in case your are new to machine polishing. always start with less then go more. less is better with paint correction.
