Default Need advice on a tonneau cover

Hello all,

2012 1500 express quad cab. I BELIEVE I need a soft cover due to the fact I will need to remove cover when putting my atv in the bed (I need every inch to close the gate). I do not want to leave the gate down while transporting atv. Can anyone give me an idea of a good brand and price on anything? Nothing that would take away bed space while stored. I just purchased my nerf bars from autoanything.com ($300 chrome Lund industries). They have some fair prices I think. Thanks.

The BakFlip2 is a pretty popular choice on here I believe. It is Tri folding and can been folded all the way back to not interfere with loading the bed up.

I have a Bak Flip G2 on my 2010 crew cab...just measured the space "lost". From the inside, measure out 7" from the inside of the back wall at the top of the bed, and measure up 19.5" to that point and thats where the bottom inside edge of my G2 is. Soooo, depending on how big your ATV is and the where the tires are, you might have enough room. The G2 is alot more $$$ than a soft tonneau, but is worth it for security and it isn't affected by the weather. I've owned 3 Extang's and they all were great...except trying to remove or put back on in the cold.

Hope the measurements aren't confusing...wrote it 3 different ways and the last seemed the less confusing...

How long have you had your Bak Flip and how is it holding up? Recently read several complaints about its durability that concern me like fasteners and seals failing.

I had a SnugLid SL on my previous truck and it was amazing, no leaks, looked great and worked almost like new for 8 years until it was sold. The only problem was that it limited hauling anything that was taller than the bed rails and I don't want that with my Ram.

If you have any pictures that you could share I'd appreciate it too. Thanks.

I've had mine for about a year and a half. It does show a little browning on the seals (haven't used any protectant), and the 2 little "D" rings on the top are a little rusty, but other than that, I'm happy with it. I wasn't looking for a 100% waterproof cover, so a few drops here and there aren't a big deal...besides, it is a truck. I would say mine is about 99% water tight and the only thing that would be 100% would be a solid 1 piece like an Undercover (had one of those too).

I'll get some pics tomorrow and post 'em up.

OP, did you decide on one? The new BAK roll-X is also pretty cool and should accommodate your ATV needs.
