Default Overheating when Idle

I noticed today that when I am idle (at a stop light) the temp hand starts to raise considerable (not in the danger zone yet) Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start...(i.e. thermostat, hose, etc)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If it's happening only at idle I'd start with the belt and make sure your fans spinning as it should. While driving the belt has more tension on it and air is pushing thru the radiator just because your in motion.

I agree with check your fan.
I had same problem on a 06 charger with 5.7,ran ok in winter but only drive it a couple times but as summer came it over heated,on charger there's two fans in housing and both went bad, changed fans no problems since.
On my 03 ram 5.7 I just got about 1 month ago from dealer found condenser fan was not working, lol to my self as I replaced fan on charger one day and a
Fan on truck the next.
Goodly luck.
