Default Road trip! ! !

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to take my 04 hemi from nj to fl tomorrow with the family and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for things I need to check for before I leave. I recently did all my brakes, serviced my rear diff and I'll be doing an oil change right before we get on the road. My truck has just about 140k on it and runs damn strong (might have to do with the new DSP). Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I keep a plug kit and air compressor with me. And a light tool kit of course. some gloves, a old blanket to lay on, flash lights, flares or triangles

Check all your fluids...and get a aftermarket muffler so you can hear the rumble of the Hemi over all those miles

Check your tire pressure, how long ago was your trans fluid checked/replaced, make sure your EZpass is up to date, stock up on road munchies. Then beware I-95 south, it absolutely sucks between DE and northern VA.

If you're coming down I-95, take I-295 around Richmond, VA. They are rebuilding all of the bridges and although they are supposed to work at night, you know how that goes. 295 will put you back on 95 at Petersburg. Better ride. Speed limit is 70 for most of it.

thanks for all the info guys! I always have the tool kit ready, and a good spare to go. trip stopped short in NC at my friends house, than we decided to stay here for the rest of our trip. Truck ran good the whole way down but when i got off the high ways I was hearing a whinning that matched the rpms, I thought it was my power steering pump but it turned out to just be the idler pulley. Other than that all is well!

Lucky it was the idler pulley and not the alternator.
