My apologies if my post sounded disrepectful. I did not realize you had a physcial handicap that keeps you from hand washing your vehicle.

I have to use a stepstool to wash/dry off the roof... and even to wash the windshield, so yeah it is a job to handwash the Ram 1500.

No apologies needed Darin. We are in the process of coming up with some ways that maybe my son and I can do it together. Hes smaller but can climb things easier to get the hood and roof. Just wish it wasnt such an expensive lesson.

100% agree! I will never take to car through an automatic wash again, let alone my truck! Hand wash is all they will ever get. I would rather leave my truck a bit dirty for a few days until I had the time to wash it then have something like this happen because I wanted to wash a little dirt off. During the winter time, I will go to a hand spray wash, but thats it! Reason being??? I did have this happen once, actually it was my wife's. She took her Mariner down to the local touchless wash instead of waiting for me to wash it the next day. The same thing happened to her drivers side, side view mirror...gouged the hell out of it. Of course she comes back crying and I am pretty ticked. I go down to the wash and had it out with the guy. If your wash is anything like most, they have signs posted before you enter that warn you to enter at your own risk, and that they are not liable for any damage. Usually they probably get away with that, but i took pictures of the automatic unit and the DUCK TAPE THAT WAS HOLDING SOME STUFF TOGETHER!!! Once I sent that into my insurance company, the car wash paid for the repair. It was stated that, Yes, you enter at your own risk, but the management is to provide proper operating equipment as well. Since the unit should have been shut down and repaired, they agreed that the car wash was liable. We were pretty lucky. I doubt that you will get anywhere with your place unless it is like our scenario, but like the other member posted, your insurance company should chalk this up under a comprehensive claim which should be around $100.00 with most coverage. I would just consider it a lesson learned (even though it still sucks). If you still want vengence, I can borrow my buddies dump truck and fill it with manure...we can back it right up and dump it in the stall, haha...Immature, but fulfilling!

Same here!! Did not read through all the posts first. Apologies. Hopefully, you can find a means of washing the truck that is suitable for you. Atleast, until your son gets older, then it can become part of his chores

Will never have that probably, not foolish enough to take that big vehicle made for cars. Get hand washed at the dealer for 10 bucks outside and 20 for interior, steam carpets whatever else needs it. But most ofter gets washed at home
I am in a chair too, my wife washes the truck and or takes it to the dealer, really though car washes are made so the guys with little cars don't complain their car is still dirty, so when you bring that big truck through the brush or (cloth brushes) must be hitting the truck harder.

I use only hadwash places due to the fact you can watch everything as it goes on. If that was my truck I.would be pissed my trans am let's just say it would.have gotten very bad very fast. I would talk to your insurance agent.to see if the can help especially if they saw the truck that recently. like it was said you can.pit in a claim if needed. I feel for you years ago I bough a brand new mustang gt and took it for a defective lighter issue and something else under warranty. I came back the next day and it looked like they rested a tool box on my hood. Tried to say it came in like that but couldn't furnish the walk around paper done at drop off and my.copy was at home. I explained it was 2 weeks old with a couple hundred miles and it was garage kept. So I kicked over shit and raged and trashed the office forgetting my friends mother was the general manager. She kept the cops out.of it and said.their shouldn't have been a dispute on a car that perfect. It got fixed and.swirl marked so I left 100 ft of rubber in their driveway and took it to my friends to.fix it right. Scared everyone out of the service area as well. Went a little overboard but shit happens own up to it. If I damage a car I am painting I always make.it.right if I.know I.did it and even.one or 2 I didn't a happy.customer sends you their friends a mad one.complains to the bbb and everyone the know or see. Better to just eat a few $ than ruin your.business but.some people don't understand that. Good luck with the repairs. I am a painter so.if you have any questions just pm me I will be glad to help a fellow car or.truck guy
