If you want

Basic bolt ons for your truck won't get you more than 50hp and that's pretty iffy...

I have a 10 CC 4x4 with the 4.7. I've had it for just over a month now and I am very pleased with it. Now you have to understand, this is an upgrade for me I had a 94 F-150 4x4 supercab with the 5.0 and 197,000 miles on it Brand new the truck wasn't close to 300 hp and after that many miles the "git up n go" just isn't there any more. Far as I'm concerned it has plenty of power Luv my RAM

I have to pull a small 6x10 trailer maybe 3 times a year so towing is not really a major concern. My thing is the down shifting, I freaking hate it!!! I was going to order a superchips flashpaq, JBA headers, offroad y-pipe, catback and airraid intake tomorrow will this combo fix the downshifting issue? I got a heck of a deal when I bought the truck thats why I settled for the 4.7 but if I can't find a way to get the power up on this thing I'm going to trade it for a 6.0 GM truck. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
The downshifting was a big problem for my 4.7 also. I got the SC flashpaq and it cured it pretty well.. the truck can climb hills and hold its speed without downshifting. That alone was worth the cost of the tuner to me. it also added some power, throttle responce, and a few other tools and options that are helpful.

All that being said.. I have the latest 4.7 (~310 HP), and you have the older 4.7 (~240). So will a flashpaq help? proably, but I dont know if it will have the same resluts.

I am about to trade in my 2010 for a 2012 Express (not because of the 4.7 but because of hail damage).. Ill let you guys know what I think of the 5.7 coming from 4.7. I dont know if my SC tuner will still work on the 2012.. anyone know?

No it won't. No tuning for 2012's. It may eventually work but not sure yet...

No tuning for the 2012's but a small 50 shot with a line booster will substitute for that

I have heard the 4.7 is a stout little motor. They produce good HP and last quite a long time it seems to me.

I don't know if I should say "Little" because they produce the same HP as the 3rd gen Hemis did.

Which leads me to the question how do newer single cab 4.7s stack up against 3rd gen single cab Hemis? I have always kind of wondered who would win?

^I know my 4.7L quad cab with 3.55, superchips 93 tune, and a drop in was just a hair faster than my buddy's old 3rd gen hemi with 3.92's(stock of course).
