Default warranty question rear camera

Hi.

My rear camera is not working blank screen and the screen intermittantly goes blank when radio is on no touch screen, etc....

Question is the dealer had a third party install camera and had to also install a chip or something in order for the camera to work with the nav/radio screen, etc.

I am concerned the dealer will not warrant the camera with the 60k warranty.

Anyone else have this issue and if so was the third party camera covered under warranty?

Note the camera waqs priced into truck when I bought it.

Thanks for any input/

If it's a factory rear camera I would say it should be covered but if its an aftermarket camera the only warranty coverage would most likely be on the manufacturer of the camera or the third party who installed it I highly doubt a dealership would cover anything "aftermarket"

If your under the warranty period and the dealer had it installed for you before you bought the truck I would think it should be covered.
Better make the call. Good luck.

Just a quick follow-up. Service guy said no problem on warranty. My unit is third party installed (why they did not install factory camera is beyond me...) they will have to get the guy from Kromer radio here in To to come to dealership to fix it...dealership paying for it...I hope!!

I noticed the wording in warranty contract stipulates all "factory installed" parts covered....had my doubts as to if this thing is covered but according to service dude, will be covered.
