P 0 1 0 1
1st letter
P = powertrain
B = Body
C = Chassis
U = Communication
1st digit
0 = Standard
1 = Manufacturer specific
2nd digit
1 = Emission management
2 = Injector circuit
3 = Ignition
4 = Auxiliary emission
5 = Vehicle speed & idle control
6 = Computer & output circuit
7 = Transmission
3rd and 4th digit are the specific trouble

Good post, there, ^^^^, very helpful, and good way to have a quick reference. I do have to say I like the way they have standardized the codes so to speak, which does make them easier to understand.
