For years I used Amsoil oil filters and would switch to Wixx filters when the Amsoil's weren't available [our local Amsoil warehouse here very rarely has Amsoil oil filters in stock; no idea why]. I had no issues whatsoever with either of them on many, many vehicles over many years.
Earlier this years, I switched to Royal Purple oil filters on all our vehicles based on a fellow firefighter's recommendations. This guy's a HP nut; he races boats, go-carts and trail bikes in his spare time and has built/sold an 8SEC flat street-registered Stang last year. In that Stang he said he eventually "cleanly popped" every top end oil filter on the market over two years at the strip with that beast.... except for the Royal Purple oil filter he switched to. He's currently working on a 1K plus HP Chevy Nova built purely for the track. Same brand oil filter with Amsoil motor oil.
That's why I switched. Sure my Ram will never see those extreme conditions his Stang did [or get anywhere near it] but I figured if it's good enough for him, then..... Have I noticed ANYTHING whatsoever different since switching to Royal Purple filters? Absolutely not.... but I sleep better at night.
Gotcha, I order all my stuff online from Amsoil. Nothing wrong with Royal purple filters I was just wondering.
