I guess they wouldn't have much of a choice but to replace it under warranty. I am lucky that I get along with the dealer. Now that they see the HID's running in the truck they can't turn around and say that it is related to it as if it was the TIPM would have burnt up instantly after turning the key. I used fat digital 35W ballasts and the decoder relays with 6000K lights all from Recon truck accessories as for Ryan Quinn he will help you get set up for low beams or your fogs.

I was told by the mechanic that the TIPM connections corrode with time and for that reason pull more amperage and burn up circuits as the TIPM enclosure is not very good to protect it from the elements. So I had an anti rust corrosion inhibitor sprayed before having the TIPM installed.

Alright well I guess I'll put back in my HIDs and pray for the best I hope my dealer doesn't give me crap if it goes out again. I just don't see how they replace a faulty part with a part that has such a short shelf life. So does this meant that every two years I'll have to replace my TIPM? It just doesn't make sense to me its like putting a band aide on a bullet wound sure it does the job for now but in the long run were screwed.

I hope they're not just waiting till my warranty runs out then I have to come out of pocket for Dodge.

hi guys I just had this problem on my 09 Ram. Do you have any idea on warranty details to be covered? I'm waiting on my replacement cap to come in and I'll take it to the dealership

Man, this is kind of a scary read. Was this problem only inherent to'09's? I want to run a Retro solutions HID kit on my 2012 but am having second thoughts after reading this. Will I have any issues?
