I have not heard about that myself, I believe that you should always use a good quality filter. I use the Mobil 1 M1-301 filter on my Hemi and Mobil 1 EP oil....never a problem.

not trying to be a a$$ but just a FYI. NAPA gold filters are WIX. same as carquest blue filters. i only know this because i work at a carquest and the WIX rep comes into our store wearing a carquest shirt, goes into the parking lot, changes into a NAPA shirt and then heads up the street to NAPA. if you look at at the parts numbers it's a dead give away. (WIX #51085,NAPA#3085,carquest#85085)
