Default 5100s very stiff and squeaky

I had Bilstein 5100s installed earlier this year. I don't put a ton of miles on the truck, but have noticed that the ride is extremely stiff, to the point that hitting potholes at highway speeds makes me very nervous about the front end jumping around.

I've also noticed a high pitched squeak coming from the front driver side. I took the truck to the shop who installed the struts and he drove it, but could not pinpoint where the squeak is coming from, but did think it was a light gauge metal sound and not related to the struts. I need new brakes, so they are going to check it out when the wheels are off.

I have the 5100s set at the max, do you think moving them down one notch will improve the ride?

absolutely! if your shocks are adjustable, I'd start somewhere in the middle of the adjustment and then decide if you wanted it stiffer or softher from that point

The shocks only adjust the lift height, I was just wondering if changing the lift height affects the stiffness at all.
