Default Brakes

I am the owner of an 01 ram 1500 manual.. I seem to be going trough brake pads. I heard something along the lines of rams made around this year weren't designed with heavy duty breaking that the truck needed. Does anyone know if this is true and if anyone else is having or had this problem. If so how did you fix it?

On my '01 , if I don't have the new pads in my hands at every 30,000 miles , it's too late . Make sure your rear brakes are clean and adjusted correctly .

Yeah they definately need to be clean. I have had a problem with pads wearing down like that until i inspected and found that the brake line from the calliper was stripped and leaking onto the pad causing wear. I dont know about the drum brakes though

To rep someone , go to their place where they made their statement and in the upper right hand corner you have the scale looking thing (right beside the number). Click on that and just follow the directions .
