Default Blower goes from face to defrost

When I have either heat or a/c and the blower is on face or floor, and then I take off it will go to the defrost and when I am not in overdrive it will return back to where it was. Since this happened I also noticed my cruise control is not working. Is this a vacum issue? Where do I start?

1999 RAM 1500 SLT
Standard 5.9L no upgrades.

The thermal relay can cause it to do silly things. Check the plug on it to see if it's good. Sit on the passenger's side and kick under the dash with your left foot. That's the plug on the thermal relay that shouldn't be kicked. I'm sure you get the idea.

(that's if I read your info correctly ('99) and you're just under the wrong section because this is the 1st gen forum)

1st gen is under the hood on the pass firewall/core.
