Default GOOD IDEA OR BAD IDEA? 5.2L TO A 3RD GEN 5.7l SWAP

Ok, i never see these... I always see the guys swapin there 5.2l to a 5.9l... Well i thought about it and thought how sweet would it be to have a modern 5.7 hemi under the hood? Problem is im not a verry mechanical person.. So from what i do know is obvoulsy the computer, motor mounts, and trans are going to have to be switched... Anything else??? Ideas, comments, opinions are appriciated! Thanks guys!

You will need a complete donor truck, preferably an '05. Pull the engine, tranny, PCM, and engine harness. You'd need to rework the motor mounts, tranny cross member, exhaust routing. Anything's possible with enough money.

I've been researching this on and off also. It does not sound cheap or easy. How about pro charging the ole 5.2L. Cheaper and probably way easier to do. I have been researching this option as well. Only problem is I don't know of many FI 5.2L. There has to be some procharged 5.2L out there.

Why not start shopping for a hemi Ram. I can verify that they hold up well, mine has over 175,000 miles and has been almost troublefree. If I were to trade it, would be worth almost nothing. That's why I'm gonna drive the wheels off her. Still , gotta be some nice high miles hemis out there for short money.

ive been lookin at this myself, and itll be cheaper for me to build a stroker 5.2 then it would be for me to buy a 5.7 and build it up. itll cost me roughly 6 grand to build the 5.2 the way i want, and itll be about 4500 just to get the hemi in my truck, 1800 to get the heads done, 600 or more for a intake, and more for a cam, high volumn oil pump, bigger injectors ect
