Default Steering Wheel and Instrument Panel Swap Out

Hi guys, new to the forum here. I was wanting to see if anyone out here has any know how on if my current steering wheel and instrument panel can be swapped out in my ST Express for like a setup seen in an SLT or higher trim. I don't have cruise control and I was wondering if it would be possible to get that added if the swap out could occur. My steering wheel is pretty basic right now, no buttons on it. Also, would an instrument panel with the interactive screen be a possibility as well. Thanks guys.

you can switch all that out. adding factory cruise might be a bit expensive. The only thing ive heard about switching the instrument panel over is you might not be able to use some of the functions. I believe you will need to add a rear view mirror from an slt or higher also. the mirror contains the compass sensor.

The compass sensor is located in the overhead console, not the mirror..

The mirror houses the electric sensor to dim the mirror on high beams behind you and controls the external mirrors if they also dim, and houses the microphones for the hands free uconnect..

How about those who just want to add the radio buttons to the steering wheel? Anyone have any suggestions and/or part numbers for that swap? I already have cruise control so those buttons would be a nice add, but not really necessary...

Does anyone have access to a part number on the steering wheel pictured below?

AFAK, the problem with swapping out steering wheel and controlls is that the controlls are "read" by the TIPM, so you would have to:
1. Provide new wiring for the controlls
2. Replace the TIPM so they can be read.

I wish that weren't the case because I'd really like to have the Uconnect buttons on my steering wheel like the new trucks have.. If anyone has different info, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks,

Andy

That steering wheel is for a 2009-2011. In 2012 they switched over to the other ones.
