Default Efan swap info and cooling question

I am interested in reading about the electric fan swap I've been seeing in some message titles, however I'm having trouble with the search. I'm unable to type text in the search bar. I'm using Internet on my phone cuz its blocked at my work. Anyway, I've noticed that the temp gauge on my truck points straight up to the half way mark once the truck is at operating temp. I honestly remember it staying just before this mark. I had a small pin leak in my radiator and after the new unit was in it stayed there. A new t-stat was also put in. So I'm wondering has anyone else had this issue and did you switch fans as result?

Your replacement tstat is probably opening at a slightly higher temperature than the original one. There is variance in the opening temperature, they don't all open perfectly at the exact temp stamped on the tstat. Also, you may have a small amount of air trapped in the cooling system that could cause it to run a little hotter.

Basically, the fan has nothing to do with what you're describing, the fan is working fine.

If you want to go to an electric fan, it'd be something aftermarket/custom. I think the threads you've been seeing are for 4th gen rams that are switching to the v6 efan that is bolt on and plug and play.

Talking Temp

My temp gauge reads right in the middle of the dial when warm. Perfectly normal.

I'm just going to bump this thread up as oppose to making a whole new thread. But I am unable to find any good info or good solid write ups on doing this electric fan conversion. Does anyone have any good info or a site they used? I am looking into using the taurus fan as well.

I am also interested in this mod, as I read it was one of the most beneficial ones you can do.

Does it have less current draw? Does the 183 come complete with the temp sensor, relay, switch etc? I noticed that Amazon has by far the lowest price on them that I have found, but I am not sure they are complete.
