Whatever, ridiculously priced is just that. And I don't think asking for a small discount is anything less American Hell, I just wanted the stupid bumpers.

I know, I know you're going to say I don't realize how much blood sweat and tears you guys put into designing and building this stuff. I get it. But I also understand the value of a dollar and have to earn every one of mine too. I certainly don't feel bad asking for some VERY overpriced rubber bumpers when I'm spending nearly a grand for a freakin leveling kit.

I can tell you the outcome of their No Deals stance: I have a guy that is willing to buy 10 sets of their Hemi. and Cummins leveling kits right now, but in his own words "they don't want to work with the outlet companies so it's their loss". All it would probably cost them is a 10% vendor discount for a huge sale and exposure for their name but I guess they don't care about making more sales. And that's their prerogative.

They were pretty much fine on the phone if a bit 'short' and seemed bothered with my questions.

It was the final email back from them when I explained my position. I was very polite and asked as a last resort if they could help me out with the damn bump stops. Their reply was simply rude. ..... Yep, I still bought the product knowing it was top shelf but that's only because I know I won't have to deal with them any further for customer support unless a spring breaks which is unlikely.

I live in San Diego, but right now I'm in Washington. I got out of the Navy as and am now a Reservist and have been recalled for a period of time, so I'm in WA now.

I race in CA and NV, and the things we build are in the area also.

I'm failing to realize how custom fabrication is ridiculously priced. Labor, tube, Argon/Mixed gas, tools, and all other supplies get more expensive every month. I have to pay my bills too, I'm not running a charity. The only thing I can't put a price on is creativity and experience. The closest way I can make a profit off of that is "labor"

You understand the value of a dollar? No, I don't think you do. Nobody has a gun to your head, nobody is forcing you to buy accessories for your truck. Nobody forced you to buy that truck. What you are complaining about is the cost of your toys and why they don't fit within the constraints of your income. Three solutions: Make more money, spend your money more wisely, don't buy things you don't need (like accessories for your truck). I feel absolutely no sympathy for you.

Those products aren't profitable for them, at all. They're just bolt on crap for the bolt on crowd. Where they make their money is custom fabrication and long travel suspension. A few lift blocks/coils/screws/etc won't affect their bottom line in the least. They don't need any exposure either, they're trucks and suspension products are approaching legendary status in the racing community. That's the community that they make their money off of by the way.

This is how KORE makes money:

I'm pretty sure they have a better handle on who their market is, than you do.

Most often companies like KORE make their $ on the street products and use those profits to finance their racing/race sponsoring departments that are usually nothing more then a marketing tool to sell more products (and have fun time doing this) to the millions of moders like most of us that consider driving on the lawn 'Off Road'.

If in fact this is reversed in KORE's business model and they make their living on providing racing parts and are willing to offer street products at no or extremely low profit, then my hats off to them.

Considering that the majority of their products are over $3,000, I doubt that they make their money on products aimed at street queens and hillbilly 4x4's.

After spending a fair bit of time on the KORE web site, it is obvious their major product line is not all out racing equipment but rather enhanced street equipment born from their experience in off road racing. So many of their suspension systems are touted as "For the ultimate in street comfort and off road capability" or similar wording. Many of these suspension kits are well over the $3000 mark.

They also have many products to compliment their suspension products which include body panels, bumpers and even auxiliary LED lighting. There is too much non-race oriented product being offered on their web site for me to believe they are doing this only to be nice to the truck owning street queen populaces.

KORE makes their money selling suspension enhancement systems to the masses so they can afford to play in the desert. They use their winning as marketing to sell their product. Being consulted by Dodge and having an active role in the design of the Ram Runner has likely not hurt their bottom line either. Here is a link to a great article in a 2010 Mopar Magazine that discusses the birth of the Ram Runner and KORE's involvement.
http://koreperformance.com/wordpress...verFeature.pdf

The growth of their company fueled by their reputation in the industry and affiliation with the Ram Runner has undoubtedly put them in a position where they are very busy. If you are busy and finding it a challenge keeping up with the orders, then you don't need to offer special deals to enhance your sales.
