Default 96 trans shifting after rebuild

Just had my trans rebuilt. I pulled took it to a shop.Put it back in and everything ran fine on the first trip shifted fine but passing gear. Next trip it started shifting funny and some time will not shift into 3rd gear as it warms up it will not shift from 1st to 2nd. Spoke to the guy who worked on it and he wants me to bring it back. But he is a hour away. The trans shifted fine before it went out. He says it could be computer, but it was shifting fine before he worked on it.

Before you take it back , you might want to go to the dealer or parts store and purchase and install a pair of new input and output speed sensors . Normally when you have an erratic shift like your talking about , it's one of those sensors . The rebuilder normally won't replace them unless theres a known problem . Let me know how you make out . Tom . Also noticed it looks like your new here . Make sure you go to the newbie section and introduce yourself .

Seems the shop did not clean or replace the governor switch. Screen was loaded with metal. Replaced and now is shifting fine. Now to get reimbersed from the shop who rebuilt is going to be fun.
