Default Bluetooth Microphone Location

To start off, I have a 2011 Sport with RBZ radio and uconnect.

Has anyone tried to install an aftermarket microphone for their uconnect system or even relocate the existing microphones? I believe there are 2 microphones in the rear view mirror (correct me if I'm wrong), and they pick up road noise majorly from the windshield. I want to move them or install new ones either in the overhead console or the A-pillars. Any help is appreciated.

Factory microphones are located on the top surface of the rear view mirror. mine seem to do a good job at cancelling the road noise.

I believe that if the dealer installes the system, they kit comes with a microphone that installs on the A pillar..

You might look at oemautopartsco.com to see what they have available.

The mirror microphone sucks a big one
my Ram is a 2009, purchased in February 2009
i have to roll up the windows & turn the fan either to low of OFF to use the microphone while using the verbal commands for NAV, Cell phone, or radio station change
Dodge is just about the only company still using the mirror microphone, everyone else moved it & changed to a noise canceling microphone
If i ever decide to change mine, i will put it in the overhead console, just in front & above of my right ear

One thing to remember, JEEPS also use the same radio & several owners have purchased an external mic kit to mount the mic on a roll bar near their head, so that they can use it when their tops are off or down
