Default New hood?

I am looking at some new hoods but what do you all think about the Fiberglas ones, how well do they hold up? Are the metal ones that much better? They just don't have much to choose from in metal.

I had started a thread about the hood I have pictures listed below. That is what I am saving up for. In my honest opinion it depends on the climate. I wouldn't do fiberglass in harsh winter conditions or desert climates. However they do last for a while with regular care. Basically washing and keeping it clean, however you shouldn't let it sit in the sun the majority of the day as with any hood.

Quality FG hoods do last though, just ask anyone with a Lancer in Florida~

P.S. The one below is Fiberglass and uses the oem hood release~

Looks bad ass! That one the Hoods I was looking at! I live in tx so my truck gets raped by sun all most every day so I don't know how it would hold up.

There is some great stuff to protect Fibreglass though so I mean it shouldn't be too bad. IMHO Florida is worse because of the rain and then the heat, tends to wear on the fibers a lot more. This time of the year it is crickets on the freeway outside the major suburbs, (just made that drive

local mate brought my oem steel hood and molded in a 440 six pack scoop and made it functional.

Holding up great in AZ weather/elements and looks good.

I love both of those hoods. I REALLY want the black one though... I've wanted that one since it came out.
