Y-pipe won't affect your emmisions and I loooove those 5" tips on the Magnaflow kit, I just wish the muffler wasn't a 22" it's to quiet for my personal preference

Hmm, I'll have to look under there again, I could've sworn the cats were part of the Y pipe.

Well, it's come alive after about 2K for me so I'm real happy.

Deep, throaty at just the right db for my liking.

Of course, you can always purchase the kit, re-pipe a small section and change the muffler you know....

Consider also replacing the factory muffler with a performance aftermarket offering. I think combining the headers and a good muffler will help quite a bit.

Does the short headers make a big difference. Im looking to buy some and I'm wondering if its worth the $$

They don't make a big difference, if you want that go with a Torque converter. Now the headers make a small noticble gain, but nothing major. at least with my set up. Volant Intake, Jba's and stock muffler.

Headers, intake, muffler, y pipe, torque converter, fastman throttle body for now. When the 2011-2012 tuning solutions get sorted out I'll build bigger from there. I'm laying the ground work for bigger power adders.

I'm sitting right there with you will. All thats left on my list is an intake and torque converter. I'm stuck on which intake to get though. I like the vararam but its 100 bucks more than everything else. Other option is the S&B.

I have a K&N, I'm pretty happy with it so far, not saying too much though, I only have about 400 miles on it.

I have a K&N but the S&B wasn't released until recently or I'd probably have that one instead. I like the fact that it's a sealed box like the Volant but it has the extra snorkel tube to catch more air coming up from the bumper and not just the inner fender and if you plan on off-roading and getting muddy there is a plug or it just in case. I've heard nothing but great things about the fitment of their products as well. As for the Vararam it's a great product just not my style, they say it works better than all the other intakes though for the newer trucks. No matter what you go with you won't be disappointed
