Default Lack of Power?

I have a 2012 Ram R/T with 5000 miles on it, so now I am starting to test the performance of this thing.

With the traction control off this truck has some performance, but off the line I thought I could get the tires to break loose, not a chance.

When the truck shifts into 3rd gear it must hit a "power band", because it has great acceleration ( 1st and 2nd gear not so great acceleration).

Does anybody have any similar issues?

Thanks

Same problem here. The only thing that will help is a programmer. If they ever release one!

That is really odd. With my 2010 I can light up the tires even with the TC on. If I turn it off it gets crazy quick. I only did that once but it was fun.

My 2012 Express will break them loose in first, but when it hits 3rd gear it feels like you hit the nitrous button!!

First off, you have to remember that you have 10-inch wide tires. Breaking them loose on dry pavement is an achievement. Also, 2600 stall converter and a high power-band mean you aren't seeing full potential until about 3200 or so RPM. But first and second gears do suck. I think too high of a ratio. Didn't they split second to make the old five speeds into six speeds?

pretty much how my Ram is. Not nearly as quick as my Challenger 6 speed. Does get squirrely with even the tiniest amount of wetness to the road.
