Default chime issue

I have a 2007 Dodge ram diesel. the chime is sounding as if the door was open or the seatbelt was off, however all are closed.., any ideas??

How many chimes? BTW this is the 1st Gen section and you'll get a better response if you post the issue under the section specific to your vehicle.

It's probably the switch gone bad or grounded out, I would check to see what kind of volts are coming off that switch when u push it in and when it's out.

Well the reason I ask "How many Chimes" is because USUALLY the number of chimes is an indication of what is malfunctioning. There are different number of chimes/patterns depending on it the seatbelt is not latched, you left the headlights on, door is open etc...

However maybe you would be better off just ripping it out of your 2007 ram diesel as suggested, because that wouldn't cause any problems. I'm sure that would solve your chime issue. While you're at it maybe take a hammer to the injector pump? You know how primitive the electronics are on these things. There's even a couple of sticks in the dash board instead of a lighter.
