Not sure about Dodge but many late model vehicles require exhaust back pressure to operate the egr system. If it doesn't see back pressure on the egr valve it never opens so the pcm doesn't see that lean condition and thus goes into "limp mode" and turns on the MIL. I did install straight duals on a Suburbon 350 V8 and have not been able to rectify that situation, yet. Not that u will have this problem but something to consider.
EGR is for combustion efficiency, i dont agree with that at all of how an egr functions, they use either vaccum or electronic signal like 99% of cars that have them do today, to reduce Nox emissions which have been known to cause damage to the human brain in large quantities, egr valves have been used since the mid 70s
