I AM NOT POSITIVE ON THIS PART. I went online and it says you needed duel out (2.5") and center in(3") and that is what I found but I have never used it so I can't guarantee it.

He is right that you need a 3" single inlet. The outlet diameter is actually 2.25" however magnaflow doesn't make it with that diameter. The only available one is 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlet. Any reputable muffler shop should have o problem though with the extra 1/4". Wish you luck in your upcoming mod and let us know how you make out.

I find the mufflex 24" to sound a bit too quiet, but the drone while towing is horendous. No kidding around, while empty the truck sounds good, but I need to add a j- pipe or sell it cause I get a headache. Reminds me of driving some trucks that buffet with the windows down.

What are you towing? An enclosed trailer, or anything in general?

2010 Lund explorer sport. It's not so bad on the flat, but in any kind of a grade, it sounds like crap. Secondary roads where we travel 50mph is the worst. I shifted into 4th to get the rpms up, but it's a waste of fuel as the hemi doesn't lug hardly with the boat on it so it should be in 5th. If I never towed anything I would keep it.

Did u just replace the muffler, or remove the resonators as well? I figured most exhaust will sound different when towing.....

you need to dump that exhaust post axle...it's the piping that's causing the drone..i would have never believed until I did it my self...several others have done it as well and the drone is completely gone...and i ran mine a little different..I took a 3 1/2" single in/3" dual out and rotated it 180 degrees...and i have the big 5 x 11 body as well..

I want to keep the exhaust running out the back as I have the dual exhaust bumper, and it's nice to have the exhaust not dumping under the cab for safety reasons in winter time. I do think it very well could be the tubing after the mufflers that is resonating and have thought of making my own j-pipes to try out but would have to get creative with that spare tire being down there. I see your truck is an 05 as well, not sure if their is a difference in resonance between GENS. Nice boat by the way.

I may test your theory by pulling off the tail pipes and going for a drive.
