Default Line Booster For '12 R/T

I've been looking around and tranny line boosters look reasonably priced, and lots of good feedback from the guys using them. Problem is, everything I have seen is for the old 5-speeds and most say that they don't work on the newer 6-speed.

So my question is this. Anyone using a line booster on their '11/'12? Can you feel the difference? Where did you get it or at least what P/N should I be looking for?

I doubt it will feel like the B&M trans-kit in my '81 Camaro w/ ~400HP 383 stroker, but that has spoiled me. She chirps the tires from 1st to 2nd even on normal acceleration.

Feedback please. I want one for my '12 R/T.

Why did they say it wont work? Thought the transmission is the same.

Don't know why it wouldn't work. Just saw multiple reports of it not working on the newer 6-speeds.

Thanks for the heads-up on dusterman. I will let this thread play out a bit and then PM him.

Sonnax makes one specifically for the 68RFE. Instead of three black wires it has two black wires and one green, that's how to tell the two adapters apart. Transmission Parts USA has them for about $49.

Thanks for the info guys. I have seen mixed reviews on this. Some guys love it and others say don't waste your money. Makes the decision making process a bit more difficult.

There are mixed reviews, there are some who love it, some who notice no difference, and some who have had pretty serious negative results(issues with slipping, etc).

In either case, the 65rfe("new" six speed) is identical to the 545rfe("old" 5 speed). Same transmission just renamed, so I would think it'd work.

The hemi in the HD trucks(2500, etc) has a 66rfe(different than 545rfe/65rfe). The diesels have a 68rfe(also different).

The booster for the 545rfe/65rfe will probably be a different part than the one for the 66rfe or 68rfe.

Found some interesting info here http://www.ramforumz.com/showpost.ph...0&postcount=94.

This might explain all the mixed reviews. Maybe I'll just save my money for now.

I didn't notice any change when I had mine on, but I did when I took it off. I only noticed it during wot shifts from 1st to 2nd and to 3rd. I say it's worth it if you have mods or are an aggressive driver
