Default Help Hard to stop

Im new to this forum and have two '05 cummins diesels and two gassers, '09 and '11. My 2011 is hard to stop when cruise control is on. Hit the brakes and the pedal is hard and takes a few seconds to come off cruise. Anybody recognize this? It doesnt do it everytime. It has done this since new.
Thanks

It may be the transmission being slow to downshift and the vvt kicking in when coming off cruise.
