Default Trailer Towing

Hello , New to the forum and new to being a Ram Truck owner. We have GMC's (sorry) for the business but the Ram is our "Cowboy Cadillic". Love the truck.I do alot of towing but this is my first 1/2 ton (class 4 hitch, 3.55 gears). I have used the truck to pull a 4 place snowmobile trailer ,no problem. Boat trailer with 22 foot boat @ 3500 lbs no problem.I added air bags and they work great. In the spring i will start towing a 26 foot enclosed car hauler. Trailer and car @ 6500 lbs.Everthing has trailer brakes.Never have hauled this kind of weight behind a half ton always used one ton.I know i'll just have to try it but i figured some people here have done it, might as well get advice, experiences.Trailer dealer says no problem but i'm almost at max for weight. Never have used load leveling device. What to you guys do,have done? Thanks for the help.

Weight distribution hitch and a trailer brake, you can pull 8k plus all day long set up right.

Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem for your truck if you already have air bags. They also make sway control for hitches, with and enclosed trailer that will catch some wind, you MIGHT need it. Make sure you have a brake controller setup on your truck, and look and see if the trailer has a break away system that is setup and has a good battery.

Based on what other people have said you should be fine with the air bags. I tow about 7000lbs loaded with my travel trailer with a WDH and it is a joy to drive. I bought air bags to supplement when I have a load in the bed and I'm not pulling my trailer. I may be pulling the trailer one more time this season so I think I will try just using the air bags and compare to the WDH.
