Well might score a reman 2bbl carb from creigs list in morning under $100. Hope it will work looks like a rodchester carb simaler to the one on truck now. I think mines wasted from sitting too long. It won't idle right and stutters between 35, 50 mph. And when its cold forget about moveing till temp needle moves.

Scored carb 65 buck's! Not quite right but good to keep in my back pocket. Did however correct auto choke cleaned eng a bit. Tightend trans pan bolts. all where loose as hell! Checked timeing (spot on) so one less leak, truck starts cold on its own without cable choke, idles better and won't get me killed when I try to drive it cold. Less grease to deal with. So far good day. Now on to exht leak and oil leak and trans shifting. Also replaced airfilter also dose anyone know where the fuel filter would be on this thing? I can't find it and there isn't one on carb its self.

And its going to be more of a refresh on body just cause it belonged to my dad. I missed out on being able to restore his last classic truck 1972 custom delux chyanne. Not this time!
As long as you enjoying your truck and having fun improving it go for it. have fun and enjoy.

I've been enjoying it and have been watching what I've done change the truck. The other thing that I enjoy and didn't expect was how excited and involved in my little obseson my 10 year old would get. That's the part I enjoy the most!

:Right now when I get a chance still debugging eng, trans and exht leaks. Right now I have the exht pulled appart and y pipe down trying to redo leak at manifold and catolitic converter. Also safty noate when removeing old y pipe have a hard hat. Not the best thing to bounce off your dome

Well all but 2 leaks fixed carb finaly streight. Found all of its issues no fuel filter big thanks for that. Now that's fixed. Also all of my issues with carb was it sucking junk from tank and cloging carb up. But now its drivable that's a good thing sence its been forced into service cause the kids truck got totaled parked in front of the house (that sucked!) Oh well wanted to sell it to get him a car. Now working on a car so truck is on hold. God I can't wait for him to get a car!

Glad you got it running, can't wait to see more. Having your kids take an interest in something besides video games and TV is a great thing, they absorb so much.

i dig it... I messed up about twenty years ago when my grandfather was getting rid of his '74 he sold it to my cousins buddy who shortly after messed it up. good side is that the truck that my grandfather bought twenty years ago is mine now and sitting in the driveway. would be cool to have a '74 and a '90 in the driveway though
